The start of Clarissa Rossi’s life was very typical. Her mother was a student at university visiting the Greek island of Cyprus when she met a Greek man, who was older than her. He was tall, dark and handsome and she instantly fell in love. She dropped out of university, something that her parents were not excited about, to start a new life on the Greek island. They were soon married and they would have one daughter, Clarissa. She was a happy baby and they had a very quiet and simple life.

That was, until the day that Clarissa’s father complained of chest pain. A young man in his mid-thirties shouldn’t experience such a pain and it worried Clarissa’s mother, who was still a very young twenty with a daughter no more than two years old. When they arrived at the hospital she was told the horrible news, her husband had suffered a massive heart attack and was in the intensive care unit. It wasn’t even 24 hours later and her husband was dead and she, a widow. The reality of their life was now over and she was still young and had the money left over from his businesses but Greece wasn’t her home. It was the life that they had created for their family. So, with tail between her legs, she returned home to London, with a baby in tow.

Her mother was beyond disappointed but was excited to see a baby, a little girl, that she could care for. Clarissa’s mother, meanwhile, fell into a depression and wouldn’t care for Clarissa. Her grandparents were strict with her, despite their love, and viewed her more or less as their own daughter and not their granddaughter. As she grew, she was disciplined for acting out, mostly as a cry to get her mother’s attention and love, that fell on deaf ears. Clarissa was naturally curious about the world and about pushing her boundaries to see what she could get away with. It got her into trouble more often than not but she sought her independence from the world around her. When she became school age she questioned where her father was, why he wasn’t around anymore, and her mother fell into a deeper depression. Clarissa couldn’t understand why and she just questioned more. It didn’t seem fair to her that her friends all had father’s and she had none. Her grandfather didn’t count in her mind and she started to resent her mother from taking her father from her, even if she couldn’t understand.

When she became a teenager and she was clued in to circumstances, she understood why he wasn’t around but it didn’t make it any better. When she turned thirteen her grandfather died in an automobile accident and suddenly she had zero father figure. It caused her to rebel against her strict grandmother and a mother that didn’t care and she started smoking cigarettes, drinking, going to clubs and lying about her age. Sex was also a big part of her life and she found that her natural charm was a way to lure in the boys. It always worked like a charm and she could get certain men to do anything for her; buy her things, take her out on dates, give her money. She realized that she could do anything with this power and she started plotting for a better life.

When she was seventeen years old, she met an American man at a club on holiday. He was a sexy older man but she wasn’t using him for his good looks; she was using him for his money and for a way out of London. She charmed him, she schmoozed him, and soon, he was leaving for America. They kept in touch by letters and she had convinced him that she was in her mid-twenties. In one letter, she had confessed that she still a teen but that she wanted to marry him and come and live in America. He vowed that the minute she turned 18 years old he would come and take her back to America and make her his bride. It had all worked out in her favor and, as promised, he came to get her, and there was nothing her family could do about it. They were married within 90 days and, soon after, she was pregnant with their child, a daughter. She bounced back quickly and into good shape, once again becoming his arm candy at events.

In a surprising twist, her husband went out much like her own father did. One day, he complained of chest pains and he was dead. There was no intensive care unit but her husband was gone. They wondered how this relatively heathy man could die but Clarissa played the role of grieving widow with a young child and no one looked twice at her. Could she have done something to cause her husband’s demise? She would never tell. But she did her best to keep her husband’s companies afloat but giving the power to the proper people and making sure the finances were right to pay for her and her young daughter. She went back to her maiden name, of Rossi, so she could start a new life, so to speak. Many saw the move as suspicious but she had decided she was going to start a few businesses herself and opened Nyx Lounge, a cocktail bar in downtown Boston.

Most recently, she opened her own boudoir photography studio because she wanted to empower woman to love themselves and their bodies. Now with her daughter grown, she is free to enjoy the nightlife of Boston and is often seen at her own bar, flirting with male customers, and using her charm to get men to do what she wants. She had swore off marriage for herself ever again because she hates being tied down and the social construct of marriage but she sometimes tell people that it’s simply because she couldn’t possibly love someone as much as her late husband. A little white lie never hurt anyone.

Circe is an ancient, immortal sorceress of incredible power. Over 1,200 years B.C., Circe was a princess of Colchis, but according to her own words, her subjects objected to her killing her weak husband. Driven out of the kingdom, she found refuge on a small island, Aeaea, and began to accumulate considerable magical power--but it was limited to the island. She used the Sirens to lure seafarers to the island, but it was not enough to sate her lust for power. The goddess Hecate would answer her prayers, desiring for Circe to be the instrument of Hecate's own revenge against the Greek gods. She made Circe a proposition: immortality, eternal beauty, and incredible power in exchange for her soul (Hecate's soul would go to Circe). Circe agreed, and after the exchange, Hecate's body was destroyed. But before she died, the goddess made a prophecy: "Upon the death of witch and the birth of witch, Hecate, by name and choice, shall repossess her soul." Circe did not pay much attention to the prophecy at first, elated by her incredible powers. She razed the kingdom of Colchis in a single day and developed the power to turn people into animals. The terror of her name and power quickly spread throughout the ancient world. Circe, driven by Hecate's hatred, fanned the flames of sexual alienation: men and women had always distrusted one another to an extent, she merely fanned such flames, sewing suspicion and betrayal wherever she went. When the Amazons were born, Circe was wary, but Ares assured her that they were his to destroy. The ancient Amazons were brought down by Heracles, and Antiope led half the Amazons against Athens--but the city was not destroyed, as Theseus and Antiope reached a peace--and then were married. Circe found Ariadne, the former wife of Theseus, and used her powers to let the angered queen slip into Antiope's bedroom and murder her as she slept. This would prove one of the key events in the history of the Amazons of Bana-Mighdall: Pythia and her Amazons blamed the murder on Theseus, while Theseus blamed them for the death of Antiope. This is precisely what Circe wanted.
